智利共和国（Republic of Chile)

　　早期境内居住著阿劳干人、火地人等印第安民族。１５—１６世纪初属於印加帝国。１５３５年，西班牙殖民者从秘鲁侵入智利北部。１５４１年建立圣地亚哥城后，智利沦为西班牙殖民地，并受其统治近３００年。１８１０年９月１８日，智利成立执政委员会，实行自治。１８１７年２月与阿根廷联军击败西班牙殖民军。１８１８年２月１２日正式宣佈独立，成立智利共和国。
